as we all know there are two contitenet in archeage, and one for each faction has different languages. if you want to communicate with the player in other cotitentm,aka cross-faction chat, you have to learn the other different, otherwise everything an enemy faction member says will just come out as gibberish. therefore, you need to find the tutor who can teach you foreign languages. there are two materials you need prepare.

5 x memory ink
5 x lather
language proficiency advances 1% each time and you have a several hour cooldown between learnings, so this is definitely something that takes a while. as your proficiency improves, enemies will begin to understand you better and you’ll start to translate their gibberish. at max proficiency, you will still see gibberish, but you’ll be able to make out what the enemy is saying. all in all, you need 100 books and 400 hours to max out the language.
if you want to learn another language, you must offer your tutor a comfortable place to sit! to craft the cusion for your tutor. then, you can put the cusion in your house, and click f to summon your tutor
